Love your site as you seem to focus more on the TRULY mysterious cases.
Just came across the website in the past couple of days and I am enthralled.

You should do a piece on the disappearance of Maura Murray…the circumstances and events surrounding her disappearance are truly bizarre.
Also, have you ever read about missing hiker Kenny Veach who disappeared during his search to rediscover the strange ‘M’ cave just outside of Las Vegas? Pretty interesting one.

Please keep up the great work and I’m looking forward to reading all your cases as well as your future posts!

Thank you so much for the feedback and suggestions! And, I can’t express how MUCH story suggestions are deeply appreciated. I’m glad you enjoy the blog – it’s definitely a weird and obsessive, but well-meaning, labor of love.

I waffle around on the Maura Murray disappearance. Sometimes, it seems like the most mysterious situation I can imagine, and I’m convinced there’s a lot more to the story. But, other times, I think it’s an obvious case of winter exposure following a tragic culmination of stressful events. Either way, having been very wild, young, and stressed out once upon a time, I can really relate to Maura. The personal and family criticism lauded on her by the public is usually difficult to avoid or address in these kinds of posts. I’d love to do a write-up on her, but it would probably take more time and research [and pointed writing] than the usual stories. I could see doing an anniversary series of posts on Maura in the future though. It is quite a mystery…

As for Kenny Veach, I’m only vaguely familiar with the story. I remember people saying at first that it was hoax, and then later, that it makes sense he disappeared because he was exploring dangerous caves. I admittedly don’t know a lot more about it past the surface level stuff. But, having just looked it up and read a little more into it– WOW, the whole situation is incredibly creepy and mysterious. I will definitely be adding this disappearance as soon as possible.

Thank you for the excellent suggestions! And, thank you again for taking the time to leave your thoughts and ideas. The blog’s taken off over the past months, and though I’ve been getting more feedback, I worry about writing in a vacuum.

I reviewed my list of sources, but the one for the truck location is no longer working. I may have made a typo or copied a typo for these coordinates- the ultimate source would be the MissingBrandonLawson.com site.

And as you’ve pointed out, they clearly state north of the rest stop on their flyer.

Did I give actual coordinates somewhere in the post? I’ve removed a couple of potentially misleading captions/google map pictures, but please let me know if you are specifically referencing anything else in the post. I make every attempt to really ensure the accuracy of the information on this blog, but I’m not immune to making mistakes. Thank you for pointing out the discrepancy!

I recently read your August 25, 2016 story on Indrid Cold and Woodrow Derenberger. I was one of tthe “kids” in the book. I grew up with the “story” and Indrid Cold. I recently wrote and published on Amazon a book called “BEYOND LANULOS…OUR 50 YEARS WITH INDRID COLD”. It is available on AMAZON FOR 17.99 or I have several autographed copies for $15.00

Thank you and yes! You can send messages to truenoirblog@gmail.com or private message me on Facebook or Twitter at @truenoir1.

I respond as quickly as possible but, fair warning, I have been taking a bit of a hiatus/break from the blog for a little while. I’m still monitoring social media/blog comments, but my response time is bit longer than usual. Feel free to reach out though and thank you again for reading!
